SCOTTISH GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP - Holder Connie Jaffrey is lone Ayrshire player in quarter finals

Still on course to defend girls title
Defending champion Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies) is the lone Ayrshire player through to the quarter finals of the Scottish Girls (Close) Championship, being held at Dumfries & County GC this week.

In the first round of matchplay on Thursday morning, Connie Jaffrey beat Mollie Stewart (Murcar Links) by 3 & 2 to set up a quarter final clash on Thursday afternoon with Mirren Fraser (Powfoot).

The other two Ayrshire qualifiers, also from the Troon Ladies club, both lost their opening rounds of matchplay.

Emma Hale lost to Joanne Free (Gullane) by 5 & 4 whilst Hazel McGarvie was defeated on the final green, losing by one hole to Charlotte Munro (Gullane).
