PRO GOLF - Michael Stewart's top 10 finish on Gecko Tour

Michael Stewart, the former Walker Cup player and beaten finalist in the British amateur championship. finished T7 in a field of 68 players at this week's Spanish Gecko Tour 36-hole event at La Canada Golf Club.

Ayrshire man Stewart had rounds of 74 and 68 for level par 142 over the par-71 course. He birdied the sixth, seventh, 12th and 13th with one bogey, at the 14th, in halves of 34 in his second round.

Ross Kellett (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) finished T23 on1 49 with rounds of 72 and 77.

Spain's Jordi Garcia del Moral shot 67-68 for 135 to win by a shot from Irishman Rory McNamara (69-67).
